Fellow champion, both of those rules are correct. Further clarification about intros was given during the phone conferences with greekster. Anything is fair game during the 10 seconds is fair game, because the intro is not scored at all (positively or negatively). Again, if an organization were to stop in the middle of their stroll, the actual 2 minutes that are scored, and begin a skit, step, frill, frazzle, or anything else like that, it would be grounds for point deductions and elimination.

according to the rules I received, and page 2 rule #4 says "Each team will be given a 10 second "intro" period, where the organization can sway or situate themselves." And rule #10 states "No skits, no frills, just strolling!" Some strolls had skits and frills, if you guys had another set of rules, please pass them my way bc then I have something clearly to shut up about.

Lol @ below... I thought you were referring to me for a sec....hahaha. But you are right Gabe, there is only so much you can do in these stroll comps.... you run outta things sometimes..... But our Blue Man stroll as people refer to it wasn't inspired by "Jaba" it was inspired by "The Blue Man show" out in Las Vegas...lmao..... crazy where I get my inspirations from. But to some of the guys that are out there, no one, at least from LUL or NAS-T is hating at ALL on your win. Gabe, keep doing great things with the team, I know Starky and the rest of the older heads must be really proud.

To follow Stephen's point about the intro (ie: say the same exact thing over again), in the rules it explicitly says "There may be a 10 second intro period with music, which will not be scored" Many orgs took advantage of this, like the pi chis who had two intros this year, one with the ghost flying and one with two girls walking by and interacting with the strollers, both were legal according to this year's rules. The 2 minute timing begins after the intros when the stroll begins, and again remember intros are actually not scored by the judges. Thus it was not a frill, my fellow champion Ayari :-) If we would have randomly busted out the transformer motorcycle in the middle of the stroll, and not done it again, then it would have been grounds for DQ.

to the comment below, just to clarify. If you look at all of LAU's videos from the past few years, we are proably one of the very few orgs that actually pay attention to the rules, and it seemed to always hurt us because we would go by the book, and all the winners would be the ones not following the rules (general statement). In regards to your phone conference with greeskter reps, you must of skipped a part. Not only did they state in that phone conference that you can do ANYTHING you wanted in your intro and not be docked points for it, it also was stated in the rules (on paper). So, again...we followed the rules like we always have and continue to do so. We didn't have to do our motorcycle transforming move twice, because it was the intro...which was allowed this year.

LMAO at the "quick nutted" phrase, wow I gotta use that one some time. Yeah 10s were left and right, but I like this stroll. What I hate is that I had to have a conference call with Greekster going over allllllllll the rules and I remember specifically asking what a frill is. After the explanation was offered, I assumed it was an extra move or trick you randomly do that isn't necessary or was not a part of your stroll. So, LAU, in this video, your intro, that was not repeated. Just like the gay mizrahi drop LPC did at the end of their round. among other things org orgs did, and no one was DQ'd like I was told. I just don't see why I am so frantic about following rules and getting DQ'd when orgs get away with things like that, and orgs like MSU and OPC break out of formation, and still get away with it....

Yeah and the Lakers didn't deserve to win the championship bc they were biting the bulls triangle offense and they have too many good players and the refs were on their side....... blah blah blah

LET ME BOTTOM LINE IT FOR YOU IN CASE IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW;

WE WON!

There is no coincidence that this is 1st year the show has independent judges with no greek ties, hence no politics and no popularity contests and we won.

You might have only been in the game since 07 but you need to DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Go study videos from '03 and '04 when we arguably also could have won and felt as though we were robbed. Did we go and hate? NO! We congratulated the victors, put the battery in our back and kept it moving knowing that one day we would have our day. AND THAT DAY CAME AT THE 2009 SMOOTH STROLL SHOW

So way what you want and mount up your excuses and defense mechanisms to make yourself feel better about the fact that you are not holding the trophy but you can't change history. LAU and LSU's letter will forever be on the banner as the '09 champs.

PS Keep the hate comin bc I'd rather be hated on and be the champ then to get all the love and be #2 or #3
